Mónica Fernández, May 22, 1978, Torreón Coahuila, Mexico. She has been involved in lyrical art since she was a child, being self-taught, she makes it part of her life.

With the desire to be able to express herself better, she began her professional career at the Lorenzo de Médicis Academy in 1999 in Florence, Italy, studying oil painting, Chinese ink, mixed media, nude painting, drawing, and watercolor techniques. Florence gives Monica the space and opportunity to explore her own feelings in order to address the issues that concern and fascinate her. Thus, far from relying on complacency, the author invites us to look carefully so that we can hear the cry, the breathing, and the voices of her characters who speak to us of the human being as a finite, insecure, egocentric being, with anguish, fears, and loneliness. Her ability is to be able to touch every feeling and take us into a complex surreal world.

She continued her studies in 2002 and 2003 in San Miguel de Allende at the Academia Bellas Artes and the Instituto Allende, with courses in sculpture, engraving, batik and oil painting.

His work has been exhibited individually and in collective exhibitions nationally and internationally in cities such as Torreón, Saltillo, Monterrey, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Mexico City, San Antonio Tx, New York, to name a few.

Since 2019, her participation and presence in international exhibitions has intensified, such as in the United States (Miami Art Basel), Italy (International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Florence) and Spain.

In 2023, she decided to explore new media to make her works an immersive experience with the traveling exhibition 'Wild Flowers', which was inaugurated in her hometown and was taken to the city of Monterrey, NL. continuing its tour within the country.
